Newton Layout Help

This page was installed with the Newton skin. It contains instructions for customizing the links and formatting of this skin. So that you can find this page in the future, Administrators will see a Layout Help Page link in the Menu Tools found in the lower right section of the screen.

This skin places the Page Tools at the top of the shaded Menu area on the right. This list can be toggled on or off by clicking the colored triangle. That is followed by the contents of your site's Menu page. The Menu page tools are below the menu content. Other links, such as Site Settings, Log Off and Recent Changes are found in the footer.

changing the default sub-title

The Newton layout splits your site's title, as defined in the General Settings page, into two parts. It looks looks for a / character in the site title. Everything before the / is the larger, main title. Everything after the / is the smaller sub-title.

changing the main section links

The links in the black navigation bar above are child pages of the Nav Bar 1 page. Edit the Nav Bar 1 page and select the Organize tab to add, reorder or remove links. Click here to jump there directly.

The links in the upper-right corner are child pages of the Nav Bar 2 page. Edit the Nav Bar 2 page and select the Organize tab to add, reorder or remove links. Click here to jump there directly.

In addition to the links on this page, you can access the various menu pages included in this layout from the Special Pages section of Site Settings.
